KELTNER
KELTNER begins with one question: What is classically beautiful?
A grand hotel. The statue of David. Greek ruins. Elegant clothing. The Sistine Chapel.
This journal exists to put a spotlight on such things.
The enduring things
Style, estates, cars, travel, art, and design offer a way to notice how intricate things are created, why they matter, and what gives them their timeless quality.
Some stories will be guides, while others will take a closer look at an object, a place, a person, or a particular design decision.
The aim is simple: to pay attention to the details and understand why certain things are worth remembering, preserving, and keeping.
Why KELTNER?
The name was chosen due to it being my father's middle name.
His simple taste and his belief in what he calls "honest design" inspired me to acknowledge the quality, functionality, and aesthetics in beautiful objects.
Do I agree with all of his favourites? No. Not at all, actually.
But there is something I want to preserve in the way he looks at things: his artwork, his ideas, and his appreciation for objects that are meant to last.
KELTNER is partly an attempt to do that. And so this is the first page of the the journey.
